Joseph Massad, DDS

Dr. Massad is a practicing dentist, lecturer and entrepreneur. Dr. Massad graduated from Loyola University of Chicago in 1975. He currently holds an adjunct professor position at Tufts University School of Dental Medicine in Boston as well as The Department of Comprehensive Dentistry, University of Texas Health Science Center Dental School San Antonio, TX. He is an Associate Professor in the Department of Prosthodontics at the University of Tennessee Health Science Center, College of Dentistry, Memphis Tennessee. Dr. Massad is a Fellow in the American and International College of Dentists. Dr. Massad has given more than 500 lectures globally with an average of 50 dentists per lecture. Of the 25,000 dentists that have attended Dr. Massad's lectures, at least 500 have taken one of Dr. Massad's advanced courses.


Dr. Massad is also an author and has published various professional articles in the Journal of Prosthetic Dentistry, International Journal of Periodontal and Restorative Dentistry, Compendium of Continuing Dental Education, The Independent Journal - England, The Pankey Gram, Bulletin of American Association of Dental Examiners, Journal of the Oklahoma Dental Association, Dentistry Today, Contemporary Denture Esthetics, Inside Dentistry and Dental Economics, among others.


Dr. Massad has spent the past decade creating new businesses focused on dental product development, dental continuing education media, and multimedia productions, Dr. Massad is Co-founder of the Massad Center for Removable Prosthodontics in Tulsa, Oklahoma.

 

Samuel Strong, DDS

Dr. Sam Strong received his DDS from Baylor College of Dentistry. He has been involved in implant prosthetics and teaching since 1985. His lectures within the U.S. and internationally have received acclaim from restorative and surgical specialists, laboratory and dental staff members. He is a member of the American Academy of Fixed Prosthodontics, International Congress of Oral Implantologists with Fellowship and Diplomate status. He is also a Diplomate of the American Board of Dental Sleep Medicine.


In addition to lectures, Dr. Strong conducts hands-on workshops several times yearly for groups of dentists focusing on implant prosthetic systems. He has published widely in numerous journals with recent articles appearing in Dentistry Today and Dental Economics. His webcasts and DVD’s illustrating implant prosthetic procedures for fixed and removable cases are now available from the Global Institute for Dental Education (GIDE), www.gidedental.com. Dr.Sam and Stephanie Strong are also co-authors of the textbook Dental Implants, The Art and Science, Chapter 3. He maintains a private practice in Little Rock, Arkansas with an emphasis on implant prosthetics, esthetic restorations, and sleep apnea treatment. Dr. Strong is the co-designer and co-developer of the Massad Edentulous Impression Tray and the recently released Strong-Massad DenPlant Impression Tray.

 

William Lobel, DMD

Dr. Lobel graduated from Tufts University School of Dental Medicine with a DMD degree in 1972. He is currently an Associate Clinical Professor in the Department of General Dentistry at Tufts University School of Dental Medicine. He has been on the faculty at Tufts University school of Dental Medicine for 14 years while still maintaining his private practice in Saugus, Ma. He received the Dean's Award for Excellence in Clinical Teaching by the Undergraduate Classes of 2001, 2003 and 2004. He was a member of the Adjunct Faculty at the University of Oklahoma College of Dentistry and is also Co-founder of the Massad Center for Removable Prosthodontics in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Dr. Lobel is an OKU faculty member at Tufts as well as a Fellow of the American College of Dentists, Pierre Fauchard Academy, International College of Dentists, American Academy of Dental Science and the International Academy for Dental Facial Esthetics.

 

Richard June, DDS

Dr. Richard P. June is a 1975 gradate of the Loyola University of Chicago College of Dentistry and of the General Practice Residency Programs at the Chicago West-side V.A. Hospital, the University of Illinois Hospital, and Cook County Hospital. Besides his memberships in the American Dental Association and The Illinois State Dental Society, he is a fellow in The American College of Dentists, The International College of Dentists, The Academy of Dentistry International and the American College of Dental and Facial Esthetics. Dr. June currently maintains a restorative practice in Henry, Illinois and a removable prosthodontic practice in Peoria, Illinois. Dr. June lectures throughout the United States on Removable Prosthodontics and is a clinical instructor at The Massad Institute in Tulsa, Oklahoma, where he is also a Co-Founder of the Massad Center for Removable Prosthodontics.

 

Joseph Thornton, DDS

Dr. Thornton graduated from Emory University School of Dentistry in 1979. He began attending courses at the L.D. Pankey Institute in 1995 and completed the continuum series in 2000. Dr. Thornton received a Fellowship Award from the Academy of General Dentistry in 2003. Dr. Thornton was an adjunct professor at the University of Oklahoma School of Dentistry and is also Co-Founder of the Massad Center for Removable Prosthodontics in Tulsa, Oklahoma.

 

William Davis, DDS, MS

Dr. Davis graduated from Marquette University School of Dentistry in 1970 and earned his M.S. in Prosthodontics from the University of Michigan School of Dentistry in 1977. Dr. Davis is the Director of the GPR and is presently the Associate Dean at the University of Toledo Hospital. In 1987, he co-authored with Dr. L.D. Pankey, "A Philosophy of the Practice of Dentistry", and has a second book titled, "A Philosophy of Wealth Accumulation for Dentists". Dr. Davis is Co-Founder of the Massad Center for Removable Prosthodontics in Tulsa, Oklahoma.

 

David Little, DDS

Dr. David Little is a graduate of the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio Dental School. He maintains a multidisciplinary, state-or-the-art dental practice in San Antonio where he dedicates himself to developing and refining his knowledge skills—as well as those of his colleagues and peers—through extensive continuing education and product research.


As a clinical researcher focusing on implants, restorative materials, and technology, Dr. Little develops predictable procedures for successful functional and esthetic outcomes. His passion for helping others drives him to share this expertise in emerging restorative techniques and materials through various workshop, clinical seminars, and peer-reviewed publications. Dr. Little also serves as a professional dental consultant, sharing his theories and techniques for team motivation, for which he has earned worldwide acclaim.


As a result of his vision, leadership, and professional commitment, Dr. Little is highly regarded throughout the dental profession. Dr. Little is an accomplished national and international speaker and professor and has been a featured lecturer and hands-on course instructor at the American Dental Association annual scientific session, the Yankee Dental Congress, the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry annual scientific session, the Chicago Midwinter Meeting, the Greater New York Dental Meeting, and other dental society meetings. Dr. Little has been featured on the cover of Dental Economics, Dentistry Today and The Progressive Dentist. His articles have appeared in Compendium of Continuing Education in Dentistry, Inside Dentistry, Dentistry Today, Practice Procedures & Aesthetic Dentistry, and the Journal of Dentistry, among others.

 

Mostafa El-Sherif, DMD, MScD, PhD

Dr. El-Sherif graduated from Alexandria University College of Dentistry in 1979 and completed a Masters Degree in Restorative Dentistry in 1983. In 1990, he earned a PhD in Fixed Prosthodontics and Dental Materials with joint supervision by Oklahoma University College of Dentistry and Tanta University. He has numerous national and international publications in more than 5 different languages in prosthodontics and restorative and cosmetic dentistry. He has lectured nationally and internationally in Fixed Prosthodontics and Dental Materials. He is currently a visiting Associate Professor with the Restorative Department Oklahoma University College of Dentistry. He is an adjunct professor in the Restorative Department at Tufts University School of Dental Medicine, the Chairman Emeritus of the American College of Forensic Examiners, President of the 21st Century Dental Study Club, member of the Academy of Operative Dentistry since 1983, ex President of the Tufts Dental Alumni, Executive Board member of the Dental M Club, Trustee ,Concord Hospital Trust Board and panel member of New Hampshire Superior Court for medical malpractice. Since 1995, Dr. El-Sherif has been in private practice in Concord, New Hampshire.

 

Tony Daher, DDS, MS

Dr. Tony Daher began practicing dentistry in California in 1982 and his love for teaching promoted him to earn in 1984 a Master's of Science degree in Medical Education from the University of Southern California (USC). Dr. Daher received a postgraduate certificate in Prosthodontics in 1988 from the University of California at Los Angeles (UCLA). He was the clinic director for the international student program at U.S.C. in 1991; and director of the Graduate Prosthodontic Program in Loma Linda University. Dr. Daher is currently an Associate Professor of Prosthodontics in the Center for Prosthodontics and Implant Dentistry at Loma Linda University (LLU). He has written many scientific and clinical articles, and has lectured nationally and internationally on the subject of Prosthodontics. He is a Diplomate of the American Board of Prosthodontics, a Fellow in the American College of Prosthodontists, and an active member in numerous organizations including the Academy of Osseointegration, the Academy of Fixed Prosthodontics, the American Dental Association, the California Dental Association and the Tri-County Dental society. Dr. Daher currently maintains a private practice limited to Prosthodontics in LaVerne, California.

 

Brief Biography Charles J. Goodacre

Dr. Goodacre received his DDS degree from Loma Linda University School of Dentistry in 1971. He completed a three year combined program in Prosthodontics and Dental Materials at Indiana University School of Dentistry and in 1974 earned his MSD degree. He has three times received awards from senior dental classes at Indiana University as the outstanding clinical instructor or outstanding lecturer. He received the Educator of the Year Award from the American College of Prosthodontists in 2003, The George H. Moulton Award from the American Academy of Fixed Prosthodontics in 2005, The Jerome M. and Dorothy Schweitzer Research Award from the Greater New York Academy of Prosthodontics in 2007, The William J. Gies Award in 2008 from the American Dental Education Association (ADEA) for Outstanding Innovation as a Dental Educator; and the Gold Medallion Award from the American Prosthodontic Society in 2010. In 2011 he received Honorary Fellowship in the Faculty of Dentistry of the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland and also the Distinguished Service Award from the American College of Prosthodontists. In 2012, the American College of Prosthodontists awarded him the Distinguished Lecturer Award.


He served as Chairman of the Department of Prosthodontics at Indiana University, and as Dean of the Loma Linda University School of Dentistry from 1994 to 2013. He is a Diplomate of the American Board of Prosthodontics, Past-President of the American Board of Prosthodontics, Past-President of the American College of Prosthodontists, and Past-President of the Academy of Prosthodontics.


He began his career in dental education in 1974 and continues to be energized through lectures, seminars, and discussions with students as well as clinical supervision of their patient treatments. He co-directed the implant dentistry course for dental students at Loma Linda University for over 10 years and each year provides national board reviews in tooth morphology and occlusion for dental students. Each year, he provides presentations for first year dental students that correlate the basic sciences with clinical dentistry. He enjoys helping students learn and currently teaches in the Advanced Specialty Education Program in Prosthodontics at Loma Linda University School of Dentistry.


Recent educational activities have focused on the development of interactive, navigable electronic education programs with particular emphasis on 3-D formatting, applications, and effectiveness. He has been extensively involved in developing the content for the following digital education programs: 3D Tooth Atlas; Occlusion and the Temporomandibular Joint; Perfect Tooth; 3D Cranial Nerves and Brain Stem; Implant Dentistry; Tooth Preparation; Head and Neck Anatomy; 3D Tooth Arrangement; Complete Dentures; Oral Cancer Screening; and Color and Shade Selection.


He served as an Editor of the International Journal of Prosthodontics for 10 years, has over 100 publications and has given more than 400 invited presentations. He has been a principal investigator or co-investigator on 24 externally funded research grants. He has maintained a part-time private practice limited to prosthodontics since 1974.


He is a founding board member of the Foundation for Oral Rehabilitation (FOR.org) and serves as a consultant for Global Dental Sciences, the company that developed and introduced the first totally digital process for fabricating complete dentures and implant prostheses.

 

Doctor Malamed

Doctor Malamed was born and raised in the Bronx, New York, graduating from the New York University College of Dentistry in 1969. He then completed a dental internship and residency in anesthesiology at Montefiore Hospital and Medical Center in the Bronx, New York before serving for 2 years in the U.S. Army Dental Corps at Ft. Knox, Kentucky. In 1973, Doctor Malamed joined the faculty of the Herman Ostrow School of Dentistry of U.S.C., in Los Angeles, where today he is Professor of Anesthesia & Medicine. Dr. Malamed is a Diplomate of the American Dental Board of Anesthesiology, as well as a recipient of the Heidebrink Award [1996] from the American Dental Society of Anesthesiology and the Horace Wells Award from the International Federation of Dental Anesthesia Societies, 1997 (IFDAS).


Doctor Malamed has authored more than 140 scientific papers and 17 chapters in various medical and dental journals and textbooks in the areas of physical evaluation, emergency medicine, local anesthesia, sedation and general anesthesia. In addition, Dr. Malamed is the author of three widely used textbooks, published by CV Mosby: Handbook of Medical Emergencies in the Dental Office (6th edition 2007); Handbook of Local Anesthesia (6th edition 2011); and Sedation - a guide to patient management (5th edition 2010) and two interactive DVD’s: Emergency Medicine (2nd edition, 2008) and Malamed’s Local Anesthetic Technique DVD (2004)


In his spare time, Doctor Malamed is an avid runner, exercise enthusiast, and admits an addiction to the New York Times crossword puzzle, which he has done daily since his freshman year in dental school
